The Grand Poobah's here at
Western Canoeing and Kayaking and
Clipper Canoes have just become a little grander. The eldest son of owners Mary and Marlin Bayes now has a son of his own. About 45 minutes after the stroke of 12 on new years eve Aaron and Laura Bayes welcomed their son James Darwin Bayes into the world. If that wasn't exciting enough, James was the first baby born in the new year in the lower mainland. James came about a month and half early, we figure he was in such a hurry to go on his first paddling trip he wanted to get a head start on life.
We are currently working on retrofitting a baby seat into a
Clipper Canoe for his first trip down the Harrison River. I may have a harder time convincing my brother and sister in law to let me take him down the Chilliwack River, but the hunt for a baby dry suit is on.
Welcome aboard James and thanks to Aaron and Laura for taking the grand-baby presure off of me.
